Recap of the Third Party Advantage Conference

by Brian Terrell
Earlier this week, I attended the 2014 version of the Third Party Advantage Conference (TPAC) in Vancouver. Vancouver reigns as the capital city of Sage 300 ERP, and I enjoy attending TPAC every year in that beautiful city. At TPAC, I renew friendships, learn about developments from key Sage 300 ERP third party developers, and receive an update from Sage on the "road ahead" for th...

by Jacky Xu
When coding in C# Actions belong to the delegate family. Delegates give us a lot of power to hold references to methods to execute, but it needs some additional codes to define a new delegate for every situation in which you need one. Action<T> started in .NET 2.0, and then expanded through each version to eventually support Actions that take anywhere from 0 to 16&...

How Will the New Health Insurance Law Affect My Business?

Often, I remind myself that the contention in Congress reflects the diverse opinions of those Congress represents. That’s me and you. When it is all said and done, we are responsible for their failure to compromise and lead the country forward. We are the ones who put them there, and we are the ones that can make the change. Should I complain or just work to affect change?

Creating a Positive User Interface

by Emma Tsai
Recently, we worked on an interesting web project, which enable the users to evaluate their return on investment and gross margin during different productivity phases. It defines the typical productivity phases a company goes through when introducing a new product or service. The results then will be quantified in a graph.
We developed it by using HTML, JavaScript, and jQuery. The we...

Moving Timecards between Entities in Intacct

by Hrayr Galoyan
If you have multiple entities setup in Intacct, you may come across a need to move timecards from one entity to another.
To move a timecard, first you need to export it from the source entity, reformat the import file to match Intacct requirements, re-import it into the target entity, and then delete the original timecard.
Exporting Timecards
You cannot export timecards directly ...

Top Articles for the Week of Feb. 14

by Jacky Xu
Here are the three most interesting articles I read this week:
1. The Sage 300 ERP System Manager Core DLLs http://smist08.wordpress.com/2014/02/08/the-sage-300-system-manager-core-dlls/
It helps Sage 300 developers understand the low levels of Sage 300 ERP. Also, it lets you have a clear structure of Sage 300 EP.
2. Automatically increments the assemblies version http://devsid.blogsp...

by Kristi Feng
Sage CRM 7.2 provides a set of client-side libraries to help us customize the screen behavior. It is simply the coding for us and it is browser independent.
Here is an example of how to set a Company Status (comp_status) caption and value to red when the value is Inactive. You need to place this code in the Custom Content of the Company Entry Screen.

Creating Documentation when Coding, Part II

by Sheila Zhang

This is a continuation from a previous blog.
When creating documentation, you can use a reference in some types of tags. The compiler translates the reference for you. For example:

It will convert the simple method name to the full method name:
