When I'm really lucky, I lose myself in thoughts of what I have and forget those thoughts of what I want. I find it a much happier and healthier place to be. In the spirit of that, let's consider how agriculture intersects with software development staff augmentation.
I have citizenship in the United States of America. I could stop right there...it's enough to make my day. Many powerful forces combine together to make the U.S. the greatest country in the world. Today, I'm singling out the Rule of Law, Free Trade, and Specialization. The Rule of Law explains itself. Free Trade weaves in and out of many great U.S. liberties such as driving across state lines, employment at will, and freedom of speech. I could ruminate all day on either the Rule of Law or Free Trade, but I'll focus on the greatness of Specialization.
And, that's conveniently where agriculture meets software development staff augmentation. Thomas Friedman reminds me in his book The World is Flat: A Brief History of the Twenty-first Century that 150 years ago, 90% of everyone worked in agriculture. It was one big food and fiber fest, where we all either grew our own or were closely related to that process. Today, less than 3% work in agriculture. Why? Well, folks like my Dad, who farmed his way through college in the 1950s, became really, really good at feeding you and me. Therefore, you and I do not have to feed ourselves. And, when we don't have to feed ourselves, we get really, really good at something else. Ultimately, when we all get really, really good at something else, worldwide wealth and standard of living skyrocket! You and I invent products and services like penicillin, microwave ovens, free shipping, and electronic mail. Well, maybe not electronic mail.
While farmers like my Dad have been busy feeding all of the fine folks at CodePartners, we have been busy getting really, really good at the complete software development life cycle. This includes requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support. And, we deliver our superior skills to clients for less cost than these clients can deliver to themselves. That's right...my clients are happy to take a phone call from you to vouch that they will never hire another developer. That's because CodePartners is both very, very good at the complete software development life cycle and also able to do it for less!
To get your company started in totally specializing in what you do really, really well by augmenting your software development staff with all of the fine folks at CodePartners, please contact me. If you'd like, we can also spend some time discussing what we have instead of what we want. At the very least, we'll both end up in a much happier and healthier place! Guaranteed!
