INTERNET APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT
MID MARKET ERP DEVELOPMENT
by Joe Zhou
One of our Intacct customers, a wireless service reseller, approached us with a need to build an on-premise, Windows-based application to manage their existing Intacct integration written in PHP using the WAMP stack. After we reviewed the requirements, we proposed two options for the client to consider. The first one is to build exactly what the client requested. The other option is to allow the client to manage the integration directly from Intacct. This diagram illustrates how the integration between a cloud-based system and an on-premise application works.
As you can see from the diagram, the API server bridges Intacct and the application server so that an on-premise legacy system can communicate with Intacct, a cloud-based system. The API server exposes a RESTful API for the Intacct customization service to consume and the REST API triggers the PHP application to execute. Once the application completes its run, the REST API sends back the status to the Intacct custom page to indicate whether the run is successful. This solution keeps the exsiting Windows-based application intact while providing the flexibility and convenience to manage and execute the applicate via a custom page in Intacct. This is a screenshot of the custom page we built for the client.
Our client was surprised to see this proposed option because they didn’t think this was possible. At CodePartners, a division of BTerrell Group, we not only build what our clients want but also go far beyond and provide the best options for our clients.
