MID MARKET ERP DEVELOPMENT

Recently, I discussed several potential projects with Sheila Zhang, one of the very experienced and excellent Intacct and Sage Business Analysts working at CodePartners. Sheila and I had just completed a discovery call with a Business Partner and their client on an opportunity to automate a complex and mission critical business process for this client. At one point in the call, I asked the client what impact the automation might have on their company. They shared that the current manual process required a substantial portion of an employee’s week, and that completing the automation would free that resource to focus on higher value, less repetitive tasks. With simple math, we were able to quantify the automation’s impact to this company.
After we completed the call, I shared with Sheila how much I appreciate the client’s candor. This open dialog depends on the trust the client has in their business partner and, by extension, in CodePartners. Trust must be developed, and by developing trust and engaging in intellectually honest business conversations, both parties stand a much greater chance of getting what they want. Clients want results and business partners want happy clients. Failure to communicate openly jeopardizes both outcomes.
In another Business Partner opportunity, Sheila’s efforts should save that Business Partner’s client over a million dollars a year. That’s an unusual and phenomenal opportunity in which we feel fortunate to be involved. The client will recover the Business Partner’s price for this result in less than 4 days. The Business Partner will expend the remitted professional fees shortly thereafter for labor and overhead; however the client will enjoy the million dollar result year after year after year. These types of opportunities require clients who look for ways to do more work with less effort, a Business Partner with an eye for helping discover those, and a professional development effort to deliver the results. Moreover, the results require trust between all parties and a willingness to engage in a business conversation in which the question is asked and answered: “What impact will this automation have on your company?”.
CodePartners exists to help Business Partners ask the question and then deliver the answer. To find out how you can offer your clients the development expertise we have cultivated over 23 years of experience, please contact me today!
